An opportunity has arisen within one of the UK’s best professional photo solutions companies to recruit an enthusiastic, talented and experienced Creative Designer into our Design & Marketing department
As our in-house designer, reporting into the Design & Marketing Manager, you will be working alongside our sales and marketing team on multiple and varied projects.Creating high quality design for anything from posters, brochures, marketing collateral, adverts, point of sale, exhibitions and e-marketing campaigns, from the initial concept to final artwork. You won’t just work to a brief, but you’ll take ownership and develop a concept using your passion and creative acumen. Outside of this role you’ll be assisting in product development, branding and generally adding your creative experience to our sales and marketing team. Sometimes it’s churn and burn, other times will have you flexing your creative muscles – variety is the name of the game here at OVI. The job will be in our Coventry-based lab and offices.
You will be creative, articulate, proactive and enthusiastic, with a great eye for detail. You will be competent working under pressure and be able to organise your workload accordingly. Not a 9-5 person; yes, have the flexibility to multitask, but also to complete assignments to tight deadlines in areas as diverse as the professional sporting market to a trade print advertorial. We want a person who is passionate about design and layout, self-motivating and understands how to deliver. You won’t want to do things by email – oh no – you are driven to pick up the phone and communicate with your internal and external clients one-to-one. But, fitting in with the rest of the team, understanding the role and your enthusiasm and interest in us will get you as far.

• 3+ years in a busy creative design environment • The ability to convert basic concepts from initial brief to print ready artwork • To self-manage workflow to meet deadlines • Fully conversant with Adobe Creative Suite, Quark Express, InDesign and Microsoft Office packages. • Possess strong art working skills • Demonstrate a diverse range of previous artwork
Would be Advantageous
• Pre-press knowledge • Colour management skills • Experience in the digital press environment • Experience in/knowledge of video editing softwares such as Premier Pro or Final Cut • Art directing – stills and video• Illustration skills • An interest in the professional social photography market • An interest in the sporting world • A practical knowledge of various social media platforms
• Degree or HNC/D in Graphic Design • 2-3 years commercial/agency experience (Open to applicants whom don’t have formal qualifications but have experience and can demonstrate creative talent.)

Second: the variety and quality of your portfolio is far more important to us – go to town on that, but no more than 10 examples in the first instance.
Third: please try to ‘Wow’ us with your amazing idea for a new product for us to pitch and market to our clients – so, research OVI and our products, don’t wing it! All of this by email please. If you are invited for an interview, you’ll be asked to provide a printed portfolio (not electronic) that will be themed, so you can’t drag out those dusty designs from Uni! There may even be a short, live design challenge to see how you cope under pressure…
